Student Produces Benefit Concert with The English Beat

FIDM Student Hayley King is bringing legendary ska band The English Beat to the Zanzibar club in Santa Monica for a benefit concert on Saturday, February 12. The Valentine’s Weekend concert will raise funds for Love Hope Strength, the world’s leading rock ‘n roll cancer awareness foundation.

“The reason I chose to throw an event for Love Hope Strength is because I want to help make a difference for people who are living with debilitating diseases,” said King, a Merchandise Marketing major at the fashion college. This marks the debut of her Cool Ruler, a production company dedicated to producing events that benefit soical causes. To learn more, search “The Cool Ruler” on Facebook.

College Night at the Getty Center in L.A!

On Wednesday, April 7, 2010 from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., the Getty Center in Los Angeles invites local college students for a night of free art, music, food, and live performances! Enjoy exclusive tours of exhibitions, meet artists, hear special guest speakers, and enjoy a live band and DJ. Snack from carnival-themed food stations and pose with friends in a photo booth.

A Very Special Edition of Missa's Monday Match: Inspiration Mandy Moore

Every Monday, we've brought you the latest looks from stars like Taylor Momsen, Leighton Meester, Jessica Stroup, Ashley Tisdale, Blake Lively, and Rihanna. 

Since its launch this past April, Monday Match has grown into one of FashionClub.com Daily's most-exciting features, thanks to future student of FIDM's Fashion Design School, Maryssa "Missa" Stumpf of Missa by Design.

This week, we're marking our exciting run by honoring singer, actress, fashion designer, and philanthropist, Mandy Moore. At just 25 years of age, Mandy Moore has released six studio albums, starred in seventeen films, appeared on six hit television shows, and been an inspiration to students in fashion design schools all over the world. Best known for her 1999 chart-topping single "Candy," she is an accomplished film star, appearing in such classics as A Walk to Remember, Saved, Because I Said So, and License to Wed.

2009 was a busy year for Mandy, as the release of her sixth studio album entitled, "Amanda Leigh," was followed by the announcement that she would voice the title character in Disney's 2010 animated production of Rapunzel. Coupled with the announcement of a surprise wedding to rocker Ryan Adams earlier this year, Mandy also led the way philanthropically, supporting such organizations as DoSomething, Population Services International, YouthAIDS, and the Gynecological Cancer Foundation. 

Shown here at Dubai's Sixth Annual Film Festival, Mandy was a featured guest amongst the likes of Queen Noor Al Hussein of Jordan, Sarah Duchess of York, Christina Ricci, and Sarah McLachlan. Rocking the red carpet in a beautiful Escada gown, Mandy completed the look with a silver clutch and diamond ear rings.

Project ETHOS Celebrates Its 10th Event With "X"
