FIDM Alumna Lauren Conrad has already proved herself to be a successful author with her L.A. Candy and The Fame Game series, along with Lauren Conrad Style. She is now adding a beauty book to the mix, writing on her blog:
"Well ladies, in addition to The Fame Game series, I am also working on another book: Lauren Conrad BEAUTY! Like Lauren Conrad Style, my beauty book will be your ultimate guide for all things beauty. Lauren Conrad, who studied fashion design and fashion merchandising at FIDM, has found success on television, in fashion, and now in the beauty world. Her beauty blog, The Beauty Department (a joint venture with her longtime hairstylist, Kristin Ess, and her makeup artist, Amy Nadine) is going to expand to a product line, reports People.
“I am currently researching all of my options, but should begin the process of executing an actual line very soon — stay tuned!" Conrad recently wrote.

Lauren Conrad has stuck to her simple and chic so cal vibe when it comes to her new clothing line for Kohl's, LC Lauren Conrad. She has a variety of light-weight comfortable pieces that compliment her jet-setting life. Although her higher-end clothing line, the Lauren Conrad Collection has come to a halt, the new Kohl's line has some great basics that can compliment any style, like a black blazer and super skinny jeans. FIDM Merchandise Product Development Student Lauren Conrad signed autographs on Tuesday, June 16 at The Grove in Los Angeles at 7:00 p.m. for her newly release fiction novel L.A. Candy. The newly retired reality star hopes to get her book on the big screen; it will be in the works soon after her book tour.

If being the star of MTV's most successful reality show, The Hills, wasn't enough, FIDM Merchandise Product Development student Lauren Conrad is hitting the headlines in another big way.
Our very own Lauren Conrad recently signed a three-book deal with HarperCollins Publishers to write "a behind-the scenes story of a young girl who moves to L.A. and unexpectedly becomes the star of a reality television show."
Says LC, "I've always loved books I could lose myself in, one's that would transport me to another place, but had characters I could relate to. I'm so excited to have this opportunity to write books like that for other readers."
Dubbed L.A. Candy, the series has no release date, but according to HarperCollins Vice President Elise Howard, "I've never seen a new project generate noise like the instant buzz that swept through our offices around this deal. The Hills and Lauren Conrad are household names among our staff, and their popularity is even higher among the teens who are our readers. We're bracing ourselves for a blockbuster publication."
