Say Good-Bye to Custom Blend

  You might want to plan on stocking up for you and your friends this holiday season: You'll no longer be able to purchase custom color matches with Estee Lauder's Prescriptives brand after January 2010.

  Estee Lauder told WWD that the economy is the main factor for turning away from the line.

  Estee Lauder gave a statement saying, "After a thorough analysis of the Prescriptives brand, management concluded that the brand's long-term business model is no longer viable, give the current market environment."

  You can still get your hands on the make up online--while supplies last.

Create Your Own Signature Perfume

Here's something for any girl's wish list: a custom perfume created especially for her, by her!

Aftelier Perfumes will mail you 18 vials of scent. You sample them all and chose your scent "chords": top note chords that form the opening smell of the perfume; middle note chords that form the heart; base note chords that form the final or "dryout" note.

Perfumer Mandy Aftelier works with the scents chosen as favorites to blend a unique perfume, taking care to incorporate the ingredients to which you responded most strongly. Then she sends you a small sample of the perfume to use for about a week, after which she adjusts the formula if necessary.

Aftelier then sends you a quarter ounce of the perfume along with a solid version in a sterling silver compact. Your formula remains on file with Aftelier so that refills can be ordered at any time.

You can also meet with Mandy in person and she'll work with you to create your perfume.

Juicy Couture is Going to the Dogs!

Okay, let me explain that title.  The Juicy Couture label, known for it's swoon-worthy sweats and handbags, is still as fabulous as ever!  BUT, the ladies of Juicy are taking their fragrance line to the dogs, so to speak.  The designing duo plan to launch Juicy Crittoure - a couture fragrance for canines and their humans!

The "pawfum" will retail for $60 - talk about a pampered pooch - with extras like shampoo, conditioner, paw softener, and even nail polish starting at $15.

Sorry feline friends, Juicy Crittoure is for dogs only.  "We're definitely a doggie culture," the girls told WWD.  "We're not into cats or parakeets."  This is evidenced in one of the Juicy Couture slogan tees that reads "Love Me, Love My Dog."

The pooch perfume will debut at the Juicy Couture boutique on Rodeo Drive, but look for it by month's end in other locations (Nordstrom, Bloomy's, Saks, and Neiman to name a few).    --Angel

Revamped Chanel Store Opens

After an eight month renovation the new Chanel store in Beverly Hills at 400 N. Rodeo Dr. opened yesterday to the public with a 14,700 square-foot, four-story building housing two boutiques and a rooftop penthouse suite and terrace for VIP's. The exterior is inspired by the Chanel No. 5 perfume box and thousands of tone-on-tone LED's illuminate the Chanel Double-C logo on the rooftop. You'll find the entire range, from beauty and fragrance to footwear and ready-to-wear. Sure, everything costs a small fortune, but it's worth looking. Don't miss the carpet (inspired by Chanel's famed tweed fabric) and commissioned artwork paying homage to Coco Chanel. -- Victoria

Kate Moss to Launch New Fragrance

Kate Moss's first ever fragrance will launch this fall in the U.S. The new perfume, named after the supermodel herself, is likely to be almost as popular as she is. "Firmenich perfumer Nathalie Lorson concocted the fragrance's floral musk, pink-tinted juice with Moss' preferences in mind," reports WWD. --Kim
