FIDM Student Isaiah Garza's Exclusive Interview with Nick Verreos!

In December, we brought you FIDM Merchandise Marketing student Isaiah Garza in an exciting edition of Style Scoop Interview. 

To date, Isaiah is one of our most accomplished current students, winning a $10,000 Scholarship from Cotton Inc., and designing a wedding dress worn by Miss Alaska USA 2008!

Recently, Isaiah scored a great interview at FIDM's DEBUT 2009 Runway Show with FIDM's beloved spokesperson, Nick Verreos. Nick touches on his success after Project Runway, and even gives great advice to up-and-coming FIDM students. Enjoy!

Fashion Club Pre-Party and FIDM DEBUT Runway Show a Hit!

The FIDM DEBUT Runway Show was last weekend and, as always, the Fashion Club Pre-Party was a stylish prelude to the gala event!  The entire FC team was on hand to celebrate DEBUT 2009 and 5 Decades of Barbie with members of high school fashion clubs from across the country.

Partygoers indulged in a decadent chocolate dessert bar, relaxed in a swanky lounge area, and took pictures with FIDM Instructor and Project Runway star Nick Verreos, before collecting their fully-loaded swag bags and heading to their VIP seats for the fashion show.

Nick Verreos opened the show, which included the winning collection from FIDM Grad and Project Runway winner Leanne Marshall, plus work from current FIDM Students.  After the show, a special tribute to Barbie featured an additional runway presentation of looks designed exclusively for the style icon!

  Fashion Club is headed to Smashbox Studios next week to bring you daily coverage of Mercedes Benz Fashion Week in Los Angeles, right here on Fashion Club Daily! From March 9 to the 13th we'll be delivering news from the runway, plus the scoop on which celebrities were at the shows, pictures from FIDM Merchandise Product Development student Lauren Conrad's Fall 2008 Collection, and other designers such as Jenny Han and Yotam Solomon (both FIDM grads) and Samora!  Stay tuned - you won't want to miss this!  --Angel

'Tim Gunn's Guide to Style,' 'Project Runway' & More!

Tim Gunn comes to a closet near you, as the silver-haired 'Project Runway' panelist debuts in Bravo's much-anticipated new series, 'Tim Gunn's Guide to Style,' later this week.   

Co-starring model Veronica Webb, the series follows Gunn and Webb as they provide hands-on assistance to women who have difficulty navigating fashion.

"It's really an education about who they are, with whom they interact, and how they want the world to perceive them," says Gunn.

Sound like TLC's 'What Not To Wear?' It's not supposed to, says Gunn. "For one, ['Guide to Style'] is not an intervention.  These women have self-declared their need for help."

Premiering Thursday, September 6th at 10/9c, the Bravo series is one of a handful of recent opportunities for the star.  After publishing his first book, "A Guide to Quality, Taste, and Style," earlier this year, Gunn signed on for Season 4 of Bravo's smash hit, 'Project Runway!' Way to go, Tim!

San Francisco Fashion Week Launches New Campaign At the W Hotel!

Get ready to party, Fog City Fashionistas!

With San Francisco Fashion Week 2007 just around the corner, Fashion Week producers launched the much-anticipated 2007 Citywide Style Campaign at the trendy W Hotel last night.

Asking "What is San Francisco Style?" the campaign features photographs and viewpoints from some of San Francisco's best-loved fashion lumenaries.

Fashion Directors Stephanie Solomon of Bloomingdale's, and Tifani Wilt of Macy's West are among those featured in the high-profile campaign that formally kicks off Fashion Week 2007 festivities.         

The evening launch drew several hundred spectators to the W Hotel as part of their W Happenings Event Series. Guests were treated to hand-passed hor-dourves and live music, while two large screens debuted the long-awaited slides. 

Others featured in the extensive series include Victor Cembellin, celebrity MAC senior makeup artist, Blakely Blass, owner of Resident Apparel Gallery (RAG), and Susie Im, national event manager for Bebe.  Campaign photos were shot by Laurie Levenfeld, courtesy of Zoom Photography.

Outside the main event, tickets were made available for the August 22-26 Fashion Week Event. A small exhibit was also made available to showcase the talent of local designers.
