Merchandise Product Development Student Rebecca Corrigan recently modeled for Fashion Club's fall fashion shoot. (If you missed it, you must check it out. We took inspiration from high school literature class reading lists! So. Much. Fun.) Rebecca is studying at FIDM with the goal to launch her own jewelry line when she graduates!
Name: Rebecca Corrigan
Campus: Los Angeles
Hometown: San Antonio, Texas
Tell us a little about yourself: I'm a model, a student and a jewelry designer.
What is one of your proudest accomplishments? One of my proudest accomplishments is placing 9th in the Junior Olympics Volleyball Tournament in 2006 & 2007.
Tell us about your experience modeling for Fashion Club fall fashion shoot: Modeling for fashion club back-to-school was a blast. Everyone was so fun and energetic!
How did you hear about FIDM and what made you decide to go here? I heard about FIDM through an older friend who had recently graduated. She's now developing her own clothing line.
How did you choose your major? I chose Merchandise Product Development based on the fact that it combined the design side of a product as well as the business side.
What's your favorite thing about FIDM? The thing I love most about FIDM is the professors. They are able to clearly explain what they teach because they are more than likely still working in that field as well as teaching it.
What are your career goals and how is FIDM helping you get there? One of my career goals is to have a sucessful jewelry line and extend the line to apparel. FIDM is helping me do that by teaching me all aspects of design and the design process.
Any advice for someone thinking about going to FIDM? I would tell anyone who was thinking about going to FIDM that if they are interested in fashion this is the right school for them. Although fashion is fun they need to be prepared to work extremely hard.
*Rebecca is a fan of beauty bloggers Blair and Elle Fowler. Did you know they'll be on FIDM's Los Angeles campus Tuesday, October 23rd?!! Please join us for their book signing. Find out more and RSVP to this free event!
