Career Girl Answers: Should I Start a Fashion Blog?

I'm in 11th grade and I love fashion. I started an Official FIDM Fashion Club at my high school, and I definitely want to pursue a career in the fashion industry after college. Do you think I should start a fashion blog—what I mean is, do you think it would help me in my career to start working on my online persona?

Dear Chanel:
First of all, you have an AWESOME name for the fashion industry, so you have that going for you, which is nice! Second of all, that's so cool that you started a Fashion Club at your high school. So fun—and great experience in a leadership role. And thirdly, to answer your question, I say go for it! Start a fashion blog. If you have a point of view and something to express, why not?! Just remember that you are, in fact, starting a digital trail of who you are and what you represent. And potential employers may see this record someday, so keep that in mind when you are writing your posts.
