Why do we watch the Oscars? For the fashion of course! And last night, at the 80th Annual Academy Awards there was no shortage of elegance, dazzle, or posh.
One of the most prevalent trends I noticed last night was red. And I must say, all the women who chose to wear it looked spectacular!
To name just a few, we have Anne Hathaway, Heidi Klum, Helen Mirren, and Katherine Heigl.
Anne Hathaway is wearing a red Marchesa gown with a rose detailed one-shoulder strap.
Heidi Klum is wearing a red, silk taffeta bustier gown with drape detail by John Galliano Haute Couture.
Helen Mirren is wearing a custom-made Georges Chakra garnet duchess satin gown accented with Swarovski crystal drop sleeves and back.
Katherine Heigl is wearing a red, silk georgette Escada column gown, with a one-shoulder design and a draped and pleated bodice.
However, the actress who had the total package, in my opinion, was Marion Cotillard, the now recipient of the Oscar for Best Lead Actress.
Marion Cotillard wore a Jean Paul Gaultier mermaid-inspired gown with Chopard jewelry, including a champagne necklace layered with brown diamond bead necklaces and a square-cut yellow diamond ring along with Sergio Rossi evening shoes.
She was absolutely gorgeous from head-to-toe all evening, and I can't wait to watch her award-winning role as Edith Piaf in La Vie En Rose!
There were many, many more fashion do's and dont's at the Oscars last night, for a full list visit Oscar.com.
