In the latest Style Scoop Q&A, we chat with FIDM Visual Communications Student Christian Douglas.
Name: Christian Douglas
Year and Major: 2nd Year - Visual Communications
Occupation: Stylist Assistant
City: Los Angeles
SS: Favorite websites, the ones you can’t live without:
CD: I like Style.com because they have everything regarding fashion.
Favorite lifestyle publication(s):
Fashion Inc. and Arena Homme are two of my favorites.
Favorite Designer(s):
Ann Demeulemeester, Dior Homme, Alexander McQueen, Libertine, Hussein Chalayan, Petar Petrov. I respect designers who push the boundaries and are years ahead of the fashion scene.
Fashion icon whose wardrobe you’d love to own:
The Olsen Twins. Their style is impeccable! They’re ever-changing, forward and original at such a youthful age.
Your next must-have item:
A taxidermy monkey. The Nine Inch Nails “Closer” music video is a visual inspiration to me.
What is the most beloved item in your wardrobe?
My McQueen skull scarves.
You're spending the afternoon shopping in the city of your choice. What's the itinerary?
Paris. Parisian designers create masterpieces in both Fashion and Interior design. It’s a city of
romanticism.
The ultimate accessory is...
A Balenciaga bag. It’s just classic.
The store that should open up a tab for you:
Maxfield. It’s a museum of couture, hard to find pieces and has the most cutting-edge visual displays. It’s my favorite place to shop. (pictured, vintage Hermes bags at Maxfield)
Final thoughts:
Hire me!

I too will be a Visual Communications major at FIDM starting this July. Is there any way to reach Mr. Douglas for career tips?

Once you have Christian inspiration, you must practice using it. Just like any skill we might learn, Christian inspiration is most effectively used long-term when we daily accept it. When you use the Christian inspiration you are given, you likely place yourself in an ideal position to receive future inspiration.
