Name: Victoria Land
Job Title: Lucky Magazine Intern--West Coast Intern
City: Los Angeles, but originally from London
Five sites you must visit daily:
www.dailycandy.com (the best of everything)
www.ShopIntuition.com (the best pieces from new designers are always found first on this online boutique)
www.topshop.co.uk (the best UK retailer of affordable, yet individual pieces that really enable you to find your own style niche)
www.style.com (especially for catwalk reviews)
And of course www.luckymag.com (it's wonderful!)
Your favorite lifestyle publications(s):
Besides Lucky...I love W...and I still purchase UK Vogue
each month. The UK also has a weekly
lifestyle/fashion publication called Grazia which I hunt out on local LA newsstands weekly for an international fashion fix!
Favorite designer:
Karl Lagerfeld for Chanel has become my firm favorite over past seasons....But I also love Matthew Williamson's colorful Spring/Summer collection.
Who is your style icon and why?
Right now I would have to say Victoria Beckham...I just read her book 'That Extra Half an Inch' and now I crave her..she seems to have a fabulous way of making a piece work in such a unique way that it only looks right on her...not to mention her ability to look every bit the fashionista whether she's skiing in Prada or walking the red carpet in customized Cavalli!
What is your dream purchase for summer?
Stella McCartney's puff sleeved summer dresses- they are simple yet fabulous!
What is the most beloved item in your wardrobe?
My Dior saddle bag...I wanted one for so long and will never forget the day I finally got my hands on one!...I've used it so much and it's so worn in now it has its own character -its personal to me!
You're spending an afternoon shopping in the city of your choice. What's the city and the itinerary?
London...as I am really missing home right now...I would spend several hours shopping the high street in Oxford Circus (most of them in Topshop!!!) before heading to the Portobello Road market for some fantastic one of a kind pieces (there are some fantastic jewellery sellers)...
If you could own the wardrobe of any film or t.v. character, whose would it be?
...It seems obvious but it would have to be Andy Sach's from The Devil Wears Prada...The film inspired every item I purchased throughout Autumn and Winter!
The ultimate accessory is...
Shoes!...Shoes can define any outfit in any way you want them to...I love that by throwing on thongs you can dress down a sexy summer dress but equally that sky high wedges can dress up any denim shorts and plain tee to carry you from day to night!
